Half Dome

Captured millions of times, Half Dome has to be the most iconic representation of Yosemite these days.  I have rendered many images of it and still have many in my mind to come.  This is the latest. Prints are available in any size, mounted and matted on Ilford Gold Fibre Silk Fine Art paper, starting

Sequoia Path

Stopping in the Sequoia National Forest for what was supposed to be a quick hike up an easy paved path for a scenic overlook, I found myself what seemed to be alone for miles.  It was virtually silent and still.  The sun was barely penatrating the canopy and if it weren’t for the few signs

Lawn Bloom 1

I have always wanted a nice lawn, and have experimented with various options.  Unfortunately my property is a mix of sandy soils, and it’s pretty hard to grow what I like easily.  During one particular seeding, some wildflower seeds germinated along with the grasses.  These buds were no larger than my small fingernail but lasted

Tree Above The Clouds

This is also one of my very favorites.  As I travelled over the Tioga Pass, some 9,000+ feet in elevation over the High Seirras, I came upon a vast meadow.  Some fellow travellers had stopped along the road to snap some shots, but I always like to take the road less travelled.  This expanse was

Yosemitie Fallen River Tree

This is one of my current favorites.  It was also on a bone chilling pre-dawn morning on the floor of Yosemitie valley.  The water was maybe 1 deg. above freezing, and in places was as still as the ice next to it.  I love producing images with high contrast, and I knew exactly what I

Water Drops

This was taken at the Homosassa Springs State Wildlife Park in Homosassa Springs, FL.  It offers hours of self guided tours over many dozens of acres, showcasing a variety of birds and animals.  It features both a tram tour and a riverboat tour, with many different habitats and areas to explore and learn about.  This

North Shore Windsurfers

I was shocked while touring Hawaii for a week, to see that the number of windsurfers outnumbered traditional surfers at least 2:1 outside the tourist areas.  Kite surfing was also very popular, with both wind and kite surfers attaining insaine amounts of airtime and hangtime.  Five seconds was not uncommon, with unbelieveable control and grace.

Hills Green River

This was taken at the Hillsborough River State Park in Tampa, FL.  The park has miles of varied difficulty hiking trails, offering paved and natural trail sightseeing.  Parts of the trail wind along the Hillsborough River allowing some stunning photographic opportunities even at mid-day such as this.  Pockets of sunlight stream through the dense foilage,

Maui Mist

This was taken just after sunrise in the middle of a volcano park.  As the sun rose up, the mists started flowing over the peaks, evaporating like whispy ghosts.  The black of the rock started to contrast with the sparse greenery starting to show below the thick misty cover.  Visability was limited to only a

AZ Moonrise

This was captured in Goodyear, AZ about 20 miles outside of Phoenix just after sunset.  The colors of the sky come to life every evening for about 15 minutes, casting whisps of reds, oranges and yellows like a jumping fire.  The moon was in it’s full cast as it shone through a clear patch, watching
